On Sunday, May 23rd, 2010, AIDS Emergency Fund (AEF), along with dozens of other community organizations, will create a fun-filled day, featuring community awards, amusing carnival-type games, exhibitor booths, contests, scrumptious county fair food and libations, as well as hooting & hollering San Francisco-style family entertainment with the Mistress of Ceremonies Donna Sachet.
The weekend of May 22nd and 23rd also marks the first observance Harvey Milk’s birthday as a state holiday. The Castro County Fair is truly the type of event Harvey Milk imagined for the community.
Now in its third year, having out grown the previous location, the Castro County Fair is moving to the historic San Francisco Armory Community Center, located on Mission and 14th streets. The Castro County Fair is the first event of its type to be held inside the Armory, a space that offers us a unique opportunity to bring the community together to create a much larger and more dynamic event.
Dust off your boots and come show your support of the community as AEF brings the county fair to the big city. More than 1000 of San Francisco’s fun-seeking citizens will join AEF donors, volunteers and clients as we whoop it up and acknowledge our community’s generosity and diversity.
